The Edge of Tranquility

Mr. Paul Humpoletz from Tarquini Theater (Brighton, UK), will perform on this year’s 41st edition on the May Opera Evenings. In the theater play “The Edge of Tranquility” Mr. Humpoletz is acting in the role of George, as such traveling through the live and music of the composer George F. Handel. Both lives, George’s and Handel’s are exploring in original, creative and sometimes humoristic form by using earthy language and images.
Mr. Humpoletz has performed in all areas of the profession, including many years in regional repertory theatre, London theatres and the West End, as well as on tour and in Europe. He has also appeared frequently on TV, in feature films, and on Radio. Most recently he played Churchill on BBC2 in ‘WW2 – Behind closed doors’. (

Mr. Luigi Schifano, counter tenor from Italy accompanied by the quintet musicians from Macedonian Opera and Ballet orchestra will evoke some of the most remarkable compositions of George F. Handel, in the second part of the program.

Both, theater play and the music recital are part of the cultural platform European Opera Days.
